Overall Guide : The Parque Metropolitano, is home to Cerro San Cristobal. You can reach it by the funicular, from here you can enjoy a beautiful view over the city. In the park there is also a botanical garden and a zoo. Santiago... more Centro, (Downtown), this area is good for a stroll down some of its Paseos. The capital’s main plaza is Plaza de Arma, this is the area of major historical importance. We recommend to visit the Cerro Santa Lucia a park with fountains and stairs which at the summit has a great view. Charles Darwin visited this peak at one point in his travels. In the city you can find fresh seafood like mussels, clams with rice. The “Empanadas”, with cheese or meat, are common. The most famous dish is “Pastel de Choclo” a beef and chicken pie topped with a sweet corn mixture. The climate in Santiago is warm with annual average temperature of 15°C (20°C in January), and annual average rainfall of 346 mm.

Overall Guide : A city that is both European without forgetting its Spanish heritage and modern without forgoing its cultural ancestry. The people, places and general safe environment make for a pulsating, exciting city with sufficient activities to satisfy the city tourist, countryside... more camper, trekking or mountaineering types.

Overall Guide : I've been living in Santiago for 1 year and I have to say that it's a big city which looks just like all the other big cities. I recommend going to characteristic places, such as the Piojera, a traditional bar,... more or going out to eat at the Hoyo, going to the La Vega market ... in short, if you look, you find!!
