Xiamen is a beautiful coastal city in the Fujian Province of China. The city, also known as Egret Island owing to the thousands of egrets nesting here, is home to a population of over two million residents. Voted as the cosiest and cleanest city of China, Xiamen has spectacular beaches and pleasant scenery.
The climate of Xiamen is subtropical with mild temperatures. Summers as well as winters have moderate temperatures. Rainfall is a dominating factor of the city’s climate. Snow is not a common phenomenon, although winters are at times extremely cold.
Historically, Xiamen was an important trade centre in China. In recent times, Xiamen’s economy has flourished in areas like textiles, manufacturing, fishing, financial and shipbuilding.

Overall Guide : Xiamen is an ideal tourist place with abundant attractions like islands, temples, recreation parks, tall cliffs and much more. The Gulangyu Island is a remarkable place with spectacular scenery, varied architecture and historical artefacts. Some of the popular spots within the... more island are The Sunlight Rock, which is said to be the tallest point in Xiamen, and the Shuzhuang Garden. The most famous Buddhist temple in Xiamen, the Nanputuo Temple, is also worth a visit. Situated at the edge of Wulaofeng Mountains, the temple displays intricate architecture. The Wanshi Hill is an alluring panorama which has about 4,000 species of tropical plants. It houses the Wanshi Botanical Gardens which is a favoured tourist attraction owing to the lush green surroundings. The Wanshilian Temple, the Tipsy Fairy Rock, the Taiping Rock and the Elephant Trunk Peak are also worth visiting.

Overall Guide : Xiamen is a very beautiful city, I'm very happy and enjoy lived in Xiamen. The food is so yummy, and not expensive. Someday, I want go back to Aiamen and stay there for a long time... visit gu lang yu,... more and windows shopping at those places... studying china languages at xiamen university ia also the best choice for student.

Overall Guide : Nothing to say here, the only setback is it is expensive for western products, but in a way if you blend with the locals it is very cheap.
