The Picasso Museum in Antibes was established in 1966, and it was the first museum ever dedicated entirely to the work of the Spanish artist. The collection is housed in the Château des Grimaldi, where the artist’s studio was. He had thought of buying it, but the city gained possession of it first. Among the most valuable paintings on display are: Woman with Sea Urchins, the Goat, the Satyr and the famous Joie de vivre, and a wall fresco, Les Clés d'Antibes.
