The Arab World Institute or Institut du Monde Arabe is a museum in Paris, dedicated to the Arabian culture and heritage. In 1980, eighteen Arab countries made an agreement with France to establish this museum-cum-institute. The exhibitions in this institute... more cover the cultural, technological and scientific aspects of the Arabian countries. This museum serves as a cultural exchange between the Arabian world and France. This institute lies at 1, rue des fossés-Saint- Bernard Place Mohammed- V in Paris. The building of IMA is itself a masterpiece of architecture. The museum is spread across an area of 181,850 sq. ft. This structure won the Aga Khan Award for Architecture. One of the sides of this institute faces the river. This side is made up of glass that is etched with white colored ceramic images. The southern wall resembles the balconies and patios in the Arabic countries. This institute remains open from 10 am to 6 pm daily, except Mondays.
