‘The Pearl of the Pacific’, Bora Bora is one of the Society Islands of French Polynesia. The island is surrounded by a lagoon and a reef and is centred on an extinct volcano, Mount Otemanu.
The population of the island is about 7,250 residents. It was settled by Tongan people in the fourth century. In 1777, James Cook led the first group of Europeans to the island.
Characterized by a tropical climate, Bora Bora has two seasons. The wet season, or the Polynesian summer, is between the months of November and April. With plenty of rainfall, the hottest months are February and March. The dry season, or the Polynesian winter, from May to October is known as the ‘on season’ for tourism.
The island’s economy primarily depends on tourism. >The public transport of the island is limited; most tourists’ preferred mode of transport is bicycles.

Overall Guide : Vaipete, a typically peaceful and slow-paced town, with a market and a few cafes, transforms into a dynamic hub of activity in the months of June and July, during the Heiva. The blue lagoon at Bora Bora offers several... more opportunities to indulge in water sports—the most famous being the Shark and Ray Feeding Excursion. Snorkeling and scuba diving in and around the lagoon provide a glimpse of marine life. Bora Bora also offers land excursions and treks. The 4 x 4 Backcountry Excursion up the hills to explore Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu and see the remnants of WWII and to experience the multicolored lagoon in its entirety is memorable. Other must-see places include Matira Pearls and Moana Arts & Pearls that offer a wide selection of black pearls, Boutique Bora Bora and Boutique Gauguin, where one can find island pareus, woodcarvings, seashells, tapa cloth and batiks of Gauguin paintings, and Coral Gardens, a popular snorkeling location.

Overall Guide : Don't be discouraged if you arrive to a huge storm, in 5 minutes the sun comes back even hotter. It's beautiful, you must go once in your life!! Pack immediatly, those who can, and ...... Enjoy your trip. PS: it's... more best to take a waterproof suitcase rather than an umbrella, it will be more useful, and a lot of T-shirts with short sleeves and sandals on your feet. Bye-bye.

Overall Guide : I went for my honeymoon and it was the most beautiful place I'd ever seen. The people are friendly, always smiling. There are several activities you can do, day trips out on the sea and inland, I went swimming with... more sharks and rays, had a ride in a jeep, visited the vanilla plantation, went to see the extraction of pearls, in short, another world.

Overall Guide : It's a heavenly unforgettable dream, you must go at least once in your life (if possible, of course) I don't know if I could tear myself away from my current life, but if I could, I would certainly would go... more here for the rest of my life! I think being there as a couple would be the best!
