Overall rating 6
Overall Guide : Among the most antique and interesting churches in T'bilisi are the Cathedral of Zion, 5th century and Saintt David's monastery from the 6th century. As a matter of fact, those who look for friends and enjoy a chat cannot miss... more the opportunity of entering one of the amzing cafés in the inside streets: Georgians are friendly indeed! It is not difficult to get informed on what is on in Tbilisi! The cultural scene is rich in events! Theatre, opera, sport, not to forget the rock music scene and much more are to be found on both newspapers and magazines, written in english, too! . Only on April 9th1991 Tbilisi became the capital of the independent Georgia. Both the Parliament and the Government of Georgia, are here! Universities, Theatres (the State Opera, the Shota Rustaveli , the Marjanishvili), Museums along with the National Public Library, the National Bank of Georgia and other institutions are housed here in T’bilisi. Also worth a visit are the Narikala fortress, the Church of Anchiskhati, the Sioni Cathedral, the Church of Metekhi, all between the 4th and the 16th centuries.
