Reichstag is the parliament of the federal government, also known as German Bundstag. This is a building that attracts millions of visitors every year. The beautifully sculptured building reflects the glorious, yet, mixed past of Germany. The building has undergone ... Vedi tutto several renovations over the past few years. The new dome, constructed on the top of the building, is its major attraction. The Reichstag building was constructed between 1884 and 1894 by Paul Wallot. The newly found German state located its parliament here. The building carries the inscription “Dem Deutschen Volke” on this building which means “To the German People”. It was created in 1916, after the First World War.The building was seriously damaged in an accidental fire on 27th February 1933. It is supposed that the fire was started by Marinus Van der Lubbe, a Dutch communist. Despite such damage, the building still stands proudly in the city, a monument to its turbulent past.
