Overall Guide : CAPE COAST WAS BASICALLY SET FOR EDUCATIONAL PURPOSE BECAUSE DURING THE COLONIAL ERA,THE WHITES DOMINATED IN THE AREA VERY MUCH IN THAT THE FIRST SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL,MFANTIPIM WAS ESTABLISHED THERE. IT WAS ALSO THE BEDROCK FOR COLONIZATION ALONG THE COAST... more OF GHANA LEADING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE CASTLE. CAPE COAST IS RECOGNIZED AS THE FIRST CAPITAL TOWN OF GHANA.
