Gaya is a city in Bihar in India. It is the head quarters of the Gaya District. Gaya is situated on the banks of the Falgu River. Gaya is located at (24.78N, 85E). It has an average elevation of 111metres (364ft). Gaya had a population of 3,473,428. Out of this males constituted 53%25 and females 47%25.  14%25 of the total population is under 6 years of age. Gaya has an average literacy rate of 68%25, which is higher than the national average literacy rate of 59.5%25. Males are more educated than the females.  The climate of this region is quite pleasant and in summer the temperatures might rise to about 38 degree Celsius. The winter here has a pleasant weather. The best time to visit Gaya is in the months of October to April.
Gaya is a place sanctified by both Hindu and Buddhists. The city is surrounded by small rocky hills on three sides and the river Falgu flowing on the fourth side. Gaya stands as the second important location in Patna before Bihar. It is the junction which is connected by four metropolis, namely New Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai and Kolkata through the important Broad-Gauge (direct train) Routes.

Overall Guide : Hi, gaya is very beautiful place. One can enjoy here too much. From all over the world people come here to see its beauty and scenario. And also for shradh karma. Shradh is given to our purvaj and people also... more go to bodhgaya to see budha temple. You can see vishnupad temple, mangla gouri temple, akshay vat, bramhayoni mountain, ramshila, pretshila, sitakund, vaitrani etc. Thanx.
