Overall Guide : In days the city is very lively and you feel it close to other metropolis, there are many museums worth to be visited, restaurants, shopping centres and fast foods. People like to socialize also in cafés, parks and... more tea houses. Unfortunately there is no night life in Tehran, the city shuts down after midnight. People in Tehran are very kind and open especially towards foreigners, and the most part of the young generation has a good knowledge of English. The nicest characteristic of the city is the wonderful Alborz mountain range on the northern part which is usually covered with snow from November to May. Unfortunately the worst feature of Tehran is air pollution, due to bad traffic jam and old motor vehicles. It becomes a very serious problem during the hot months as July and August and during the very cold ones as January and February. In Tehran you have four distinct seasons with a lot of rain during spring and autumn, a warm summer and good snow in winter. The architecture of the city compared to other Iranian cities is not very attractive. Tehran has over grown in the past because of the mass immigration from rural areas. Great part of the city has a rather modern and industrialised look and feel. There are only a few monuments as Grand Bazaar and Golestan Palace which remind of the classical architecture of the city. In the northern part of the town you find the residential district with bigger houses, villas and gardens. Driving in Tehran is only recommended to people who are used to drive in an extremely hectic way. A big advantage of Tehran is that you can escape to the countryside easily. You reach towns with clear and fresh air located in the mountains as Lavasan and Fasham with less than an hour drive. In winter at only two hours from the capital you can enjoy skiing in Shemshak, Dizin and Darbandsar, there are nice pistes, hotels and other accommodations to enjoy.

Overall Guide : Tehran is the capital and largest city of Iran (Persia), the largest city in Southwest Asia and the administrative Center of Tehran Province. More than half of Iran's industry based in Tehran; Industries include the manufacturing of automobiles, electronics and... more electrical equipment, textiles, sugar, cement, and chemical products. It is also a leading center for the sale of carpets and furniture. There is an oil refinery south of the city. Tehran is a sprawling City at the foot of the Alborz Mountain range with an immense network of highways unparalleled in Western Asia. It is also the hub of the country's railway network. The city has numerous large museums, art centers, palace complexes and cultural centers. In the 20th century, Tehran faced a large migration of people from all around Iran.
Not to be missed borje milad , Golestan palace , National museume of Iran

Overall Guide : Tehran is the biggest city in Iran and also one of the largest city in Middle East, its size could be compared to London or New York. Its very young population is around 14 million people. The official and most... more popular language in Tehran is Persian (in Persian it is called Farsi or Parsi). A lot of people, mostly the younger ones speak and write English fluently. Iran has its own calendar system, the Iranian/Persian calendar system called “Jalali”. This calendar is used in daily life and commerce, although the Iranians are familiar with the western calendar they use it only if they are doing business with the west.

Overall Guide : I have visit there once for job. It was a wonderful experience and i never expect those great welcoming from their people. Nice hotels, great airport, north of the city is better than the middle, perfect metro stations. Only there... more was some stupid people in middle and south of the town that look at you in weird way and had stupid hijabs. If you wanna have fun go to the north of Tehran.

Overall Guide : I live in Tehran for 8 years. Tehran is a very expensive place to live... and unsuitable for family... everyday people spend a lot of time in crowded streets to get their job, also the air is very pollutant.
