Marco Polo Airport is an international airport, 13 km far from the center of Venice and owes its name to the famous Venetian explorer Marco Polo. The construction of the airport began in 1958 and the inauguration was in 1961; this airport has become in a short time the airport reference in Veneto.
It takes about 20 minutes from the airport to reach the city centre and to get there you can catch the bus number 5. The airport is good with lots of space and a decent amount of shopping.
