Porto Cervo is located in northern Sardinia, an island off the western coast of Italy. This resort village lies along the Costa Smeralda, a coast dotted with village resorts that are planned especially to serve as holiday spots; Porto Cervo is one of the most popular ones among them.
The region enjoys a Mediterranean climate; it is warm throughout the year. Summers are long and dry with temperatures in July and August averaging above 25°C. Winters are pleasant with temperatures during the day averaging at 14°C.
Porto Cervo is not a town rich in history or architecture. It is purely a luxury resort made up of a harbour and marinas; the town is dotted with colourful holiday villas and is nestled in the hilly terrain.

Overall Guide : Porto Cervo is visited mainly for the fun, sun and the beach. The coast, marked by sandy beaches and several rocky inlets, is ideal for swimming and sailing. Further into the island, the terrain is mountainous and lush, great for... more hiking and climbing. One of the most distinguished landmarks of the town is Capo Ferro, a towering piece of rocky terrain jutting out into the sea. It is mounted by a lighthouse, which is the first indication of the town when arriving by sea. The town is dotted with piazzas, flanked by designer boutiques, cafes and restaurants. The buildings have been beautifully planned to provide Old World charm. The Yacht Club Costa Smeralda is one of the major contributors to the town’s success as it attracts a lot of visitors for sport and leisure. The annual Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup, held in September, attracts sailboats from all over the world for week-long competitions and events.
