The Arco d’Augusto was built in 27 BC and has a majestic appearance to it. It has fine fluted columns and Corinthian capitals to it. It is the oldest of the surviving Roman arches and was built in honor of Caesar Octavianus Augustus. It has a single gate of 9.92 meter high and 8.45 meter wide. The merlons were added in the middle ages. This is a worth visiting site whilst visiting Rimini.
