Belize does not have a cuisine that could be considered to be purely Belizean. Almost all dishes have elements of cuisines from the UK, the USA, Mexico and the Caribbean. Rice and beans dominates the main course meal along with chicken, pork, beef, fish, etc. Armadillo, venison and fried gibnut are the most popular local specialities.
