Lagos can be described as city as well as municipality located at mouth of river Bensafrim. It also lies along Atlantic Ocean; in Algarve, Southern Portugal.
Lagos is approximately situate at the distance of 35 Km on the eastern side of Sagres Point, i.e. Europe’s south-westernmost point. On the northern side lies road towards ‘Silves’; i.e. Algarve’s 1st capital that has loads of tourist attractions.
Lagos is known as an old maritime town which can boast of history of around 2000 years.
The name ‘Lagos’ has Celtic origin. Moreover, it has been derived from word ‘Lacobriga’. At first, Lagos went on to become settlement of Carthaginians. They were the ones who recruited tribesmen of Celtic origin in war of theirs against Romans. Thereafter, a Roman colony was established. As such, it became a portion of Lusitania, a Roman province.
Lagos is now a Portuguese settlement.

Overall Guide : Lagos is a busy destination for anyone come in to do business. You can also stay in some quiet locations for those who want a quiet and reserved place. In lagos you get to see the priviledge and less priviledge... more places which is common all over the world. traffic in lagos is hectic which i call bumper to bumper.there relaxing centers to which one can visit like festac, victoria island, ikeja, apapa, yaba.it all depends on what you looking for.however for sports centre you can visit ikoyi club tennis or the fha sports centre in festac, national stadium, etc.you want to go religious there are many religious place of worship for you.security wise all not 100% but i will say 68.5% compared to other states even when exposed to sea and border. You can also get continental and local foods, same goes for the fruits as well. Transportation is expensive, i will rather you took BRT more relaxing and comforting. Events are held in lagos such as the lagos carnival, EYO, christmas and muslim festivals etc.the people of lagos are generally friendly and accommodating.please do not forget to visit the beach there are privates beaches to visit, the muson centre is available at your finger tips, the oba's place, badgry museum the bar beach, national museum...

Overall Guide : Land blessed by the LORD and flowing with gold. It is a land of oppornunities. Lagos is a cultural melting pot represented by almost every segment of the globe. Though misinformation has been peddled about Lagos to the effect that it... more is unsafe to first time visitors, nothing is further from the truth. It is safe. The people, both natives and settlers, are very warm, friendly and humorous. A visitor may be alarmed by two area boys threatening each other with like doomday, it is most of the time shakara (empty). In a nutshell, Lagos is a place to be whether as a tourist, investor, settler or in any other capacity. Your experience/memory of Lagos may not be easily forgotten.

Overall Guide : Love the place if i could afford to move there I would. Avoid the tourist bars and restaurants and you will be given a warm welcome by the Portugese owners, try the language and they will help you, not only... more do you get the warm welcome but you also save a few euros. The restaurants and bars that open all year - not just for the season are the ones to look out for. Fish and meat dishes are fantastic. Enjoy the beaches there's something for everyone and it's a handy location for touring the Western Algarve
Not to be missed Old town Architecture and ambience , Marina , Beaches
