Reading lies at the convergence of the Kennet and Thames River between Swindon and London in the South East of England.
This large town, which once had strong royal connections, is now an important commercial hub and has a vast student population.
The population in the suburban region of the town is 232,662 and in the borough approximately 143,000. This makes it the seventeenth largest settlement in England based on its urban area of 40.40 km.
There are many multinational companies, insurance companies, commercial buildings and IT firms in the Thames Valley, of which Reading is the capital.
It has a dry and warm climate and there is plenty of sunshine making it a popular tourist destination.
There are many things to do in Reading such as taking river trips or cruises on the Thames River or shopping at the huge pedestrian street on the Broad Street, which has several shopping complexes.

Overall Guide : Great place to live, good public transport (but bad traffic sometimes), my 18 yr old daughter has a great social life here, however I prefer to travel to London for nights out ... but London is only 25 mins away... more on the train. Nice mix of different cultures & communities & where I live there is a real community feel to the place.
Not to be missed Football , river & canal , shopping
