Hotel Description

Llangoed Hall strikes an imposing picture in the Wye Valley near the village of Llyswen in Mid Wales - Set in 17 acres of beautiful landscaped gardens it is the home from home that you would expect from your best friends Country House - The oldest part of the building dates back to 1632 with original features including the Jacobean chimneys and the oak door in the library - But most of the building owes its heritage to the Edwardian architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis who finished rebuilding it in 1919 - The carved timber staircase and 95 ft long pillared gallery are examples of his daring style part - Each of our 23 rooms benefits from the personal touch of Sir Bernard and Regine Ashley and is individually decorated using co-ordinating fabrics from Elanbach- the family textile design company - Guest designers such as Tom Parr have added their own individual style to the rooms - Seventeenth century antique mirrors - Roberts radios and cast iron baths are just some of the features that make each room both welcoming and luxurious - Our principal restaurant offers fine dining in a fresh- light and elegant room and a tempting menu of lighter meals and snacks is available in one of our luxurious lounges - All our menus are complemented by an outstanding selection of world wines - Sean Ballington- the Head Chef places emphasis on creating dishes with flair and imagination that promote the finest local Welsh produce - all flavoured with herbs from our gardens - We have an enviable reputation for weddings and conferences and can accommodate both small intimate meetings and large functions or gatherings - Excellent and affordable packages - including exclusive use - are available - Llangoed Hall is a great place to relax- read the papers by the fire- play snooker in the library or enjoy a glass of wine on the terrace - but for those who would like a little more adventure we can offer a selection of Activity Holidays - WiFi is available throughout the hotel
