Overall Guide : Brecon has quickly became a famous tourist destination. Of course, among the places to visit in Brecon, the Brecon Beacons National Park is the most important one. Brecon Beacons was declared a national park in 1957, and it is a region... more with an extremely diverse landscape. There are mountains, river valleys, lakes, open grasslands, lush green forests and so forth that would account for a marvellous holiday away from the crowd. There are many beautiful waterfalls in the park one of which is the Ystradfellti Sgwd. The Usk and the Wye river valleys offer excellent trails for experiencing peaceful walks. The park also houses a number of castles like the Crickhowell etc. Brecon Beacons is also renowned for its mountain biking trails that attracts adventure lovers in large numbers. The Faf-fechan Reservoir surrounded by beautiful mountains is a great place for spending some quiet moments with your loved ones.

Overall Guide : An attractive riverside market town with many facilities: theatre, cinema, museums, leisure centre (including a swimming pool) cottage hospital and lots of outdoor areas for recreation. There can be traffic congestion on bank holidays owing to the medieval road layout... more in the centre, but there are several cheap car parks near the centre. There are many old buildings to see, particularly the cathedral and Brecknock museum.
Not to be missed cathedral , Brecknock Museum , the Brecon Beacons

Overall Guide : Lively market town, only a pity it took me some years to find the cathedral as it is hidden away out of the town centre ! Lovely shops, something for everyone
Not to be missed cathedral , Bethel Square
