For an intriguing look into the history of Latin American art, spend an afternoon at the Museo De Las Americas.  Located in the Santa Fe Arts District in Denver, the museum has an amazing replica of the Aztec Sunstone Pyramid, (the original is located in Mexico City) built using over 4000 wood pieces.  From the past to the present, the museum gives a broad view of the culture through both permanent and traveling exhibitions.  Hand-made blankets, masks, bead jewelry, clothing, swords and musical instruments specific to the Latin American culture are featured in the exhibits.

The Latino heritage is spread with the museum’s outreach workshops to area schools as well as with their interactive tours, evening lectures and special events.   Adult admission is $5, seniors and students $3.  There is a small museum shop offering Mexican folk art.
