Hervey Bay is located on the eastern coast of Queensland. From 1854 to 1977, it was a part of Toogoom Run, a cattle station. Subsequently, it became a group of villages, and only in February 1984, it was proclaimed a city.
Located at a distance of around 300 km to the north of Brisbane, Hervey Bay has a population of 54,400. It derives its name from the water body Hervey Bay, which was named by Captain Cook. A major part of the region is hinterland, and thus, it has a rocky and coastal terrain with a lot of marine wildlife.
The city enjoys a subtropical climate with 29°C being the maximum average temperature in summer (January) and 22°C, the maximum average temperature in winter (July).
Hervey Bay’s economy is dependent mainly on the tourism, service, retailing and light industries. It is renowned for its cleanliness and safety.

Overall Guide : Definately a must do holiday location, beautiful and unspoilt. Great watersports. Excellent fishing. Nice walking paths for morning walks when the tide is high.The people are wonderful there, dining out, theres a large selection to choose from. We just keep ...
