Port Macquarie is located at nearly 600km south from Brisbane and 400 km north from Sydney. The city is situated at the mouth Hastings River and is surrounded by beaches along its coast. However, John Oxley was the first person to discover the Hastings River Valley. He followed the river, while he was trekking through the Tamworth district.

There are a number of amazing gardens where the visitors can explore the unique Australian wildlife, beautiful gardens and rainforest walks. The Kooloonbung Creek Nature Park is noteworthy among them.The travellers can choose visiting Lake Cathie, if they wish to spend a relaxed time. They can also tour along the Hasting River, which is known for its scenic beauty. A number of restaurants and pubs are available for guests.
