Selkirk is a town of Manitoba in Canada, North America, and is located at the borders of Scotland, on the River Ettrick, a tributary of the Tweed River. Formerly it was a royal burgh. This Royal burgh was a kind of Scottish burgh which had been given a royal charter. The number of inhabitants of Selkirk was 5839, according to the 2001 census. Even though Selkirk is not a major town, it holds some minor traditions. Previously Selkirk was a shire town of Selkirkshire, a registered county. The inhabitants of the town are commonly called as ‘Souters’, forenamed after the conventional shoe cobblers of the town. Common riding is a yearly event of Selkirk. The event is conducted to commemorate the men who sacrificed their lives for the wellbeing of Selkirk and its people. A small percent of Selkirk’s population depends on its woollen industry for their livelihood.  Bannocks, flat shaped quick breads is a famous dish of Selkirk.

Overall Guide : We are a seasonal camper in your park and there really is not much for young kids to do outside of the pool. You need a play structure in the field by race track as you have lots of small... more kids down in over flow or camping, this way parents can keep watch of kids but the only play structure is down in field by docks. For the bigger kids put up basketball nets they would have a blast. Make the park more enjoyable for those who pay to use it.
Not to be missed Selkirk Park , Waterfront , Golf Club House
