Hurghada is an Egyptian city on the Red Sea. It is home to 40,000 inhabitants and is a major tourist centre.
Hurghada has a warm and dry desert climate with a steady breeze. Summers are very hot. In winter the temperature dips to 20-25C.
Until a few years ago Hurghada was just a small fishing village. Today it thrives on tourism. The locals here are mainly of Bedouin and Berber origins.

You can view exotic fish and coral reefs through glass bottom boats or take the unique submarine ride on offer. The city is a gateway to some of the most exquisite diving sites in the Red Sea, providing access to many uninhabited offshore reefs and islands. Marine Museum is a marine biology station and also has a small aquarium. Hurghada is known as a party town. It has clubs and discos that are open well into the night. The most well known are Calypso and Papas Beach. Also visit the popular Alf Leila Wa Leila (One thousand and one nights). This open-air arena is renowned for belly dancing and Arabic and Nubian folklore.

The weather was perfect (hot, but with just the right breeze to ease the heat). -You should: ride camels in the desert and go snorkeling near the coral reef. For those who want to ...
