Mahabaleshwar can be referred to as a city served by municipal council and located in district called ‘Satara’ in Maharashtra, India. It’s, in fact, one of the hill-stations situated within the range of Western Ghats. Being a home to certain evergreen forests, it had served as Bombay province’s summer capital at the time of British Raj.

The area of Mahabaleshwar is around 150 sq. Km, bordered by valleys (on all sides). It goes on to reach an elevation of ‘1438 meters’ at the highest peak over sea level, called Sunrise/Wilson Point. Mahabaleshwar, besides being a famous honeymoon spot and holiday resort, is known for strawberries and honey produced over here as well.

This hill-station consists of 3 villages: portion of Shindola village, ancient ‘kshetra’ Mahabaleshwar’, and ‘Malcolm Peth’.

Krishna River, which flows across Andhra Pradesh and Maharashtra has its source over here. Nature lovers should visit this place during winter, due to greenery; whereas those who wish to get rid of scorching sun can visit during the summer season.
