The city of Nasik is at a distance of 180 Km from Mumbai in Maharashtra state. Pune is 220 km from Nasik.
Nasik in situated on the west side of the Deccan peninsula. This city is based on the banks of Godavari River.
As per the records, the maximum temperature attained in Nasik was 44.8 degrees Celsius in 1960. Also, the minimum temperature was 0.6 degrees Celsius in 1945. Nasik is among the cold places in India.
Due to its weather and the presence of mountains in nearby regions, this area is rated as a semi-hill-station.

It is claimed that Nasik is a Mini-India. The society is similar to Mumbai but on a lesser scale.
