Overall Guide : Ranthambore Fort and Ranthambore National Park are the two most popular tourist destinations in Sawai Madhopur. The wildlife reserve is known to have the largest population of tigers, visible in their natural habitat. The city is known for its quiet... more and pleasant atmosphere, and a walk around the city proves calm and relaxing. The Ranthambore Ganesh temple, Chamatkar temple and Shiwad temple are some of the popular religious sites. Ganesh Chaturti is the most important festival of Sawai Madhopur; Shiv Ratri is also celebrated. While in Sawai Madhopur, be sure to try some of the traditional Rajasthani food. Kebabs, kachori, laddoo, lachha parantha, safed maas and laal maas are some of the popular dishes. For those interested in shopping, Sawai Madhopur proves to be a shopper’s delight with wide and colourful array of jewellery, textiles, furniture, antiques, carpets and handicrafts.
