Netanya is a city in the Central District of Israel and the capital of the Sharon plain. It is a popular tourist resort town owing to its beautiful beaches. Netanya is home to a population of about 180,000 residents. It is a rapidly developing holiday destination with several resorts, restaurants and shopping malls.
The climate of Netanya is pleasant all year round, which has helped it develop as a resort town. Summers are not very hot, and in winters, the temperatures drop to a comfortable level. Rainfall is adequate, and snowfall, rare. Visiting the city in spring and autumn is profitable to the tourists.
Netanya was founded in the late twenties by citrus farmers. Today, the city is an important tourist centre, contributing to the economy.

Overall Guide : The beaches are lovely and what's especially nice, is that there are numerous restaurants nearby and even one on the beach. Its a pleasure to take walks along the promenade and the kikar has recently been renovated and shops upgraded. ... Leggi tutto Netanya is a small town and it is convenient in that you can walk to anywhere you want to go, although the sheiruts are numerous and run regularly, making it easy to travel from one side of Netanya to the other. Busses to and from Tel Aviv and other areas are also regular. The shuk is large and one can buy just about anything there, at reasonable prices and the fruit and vegies are always fresh. There are many play parks for children, which have wonderful equipment to play on and they are well kept and the parks are always clean. Not much available in entertainment, but one can join organizations that offer various entertainment, such as group tours, movies, plays and lectures.

Overall Guide : I love netanya. People are nicer than in other cities in Israel. There is a lot of nice places around the city... farms, moshavim, villas...
