Info about Moscow

Area:
2550 km2
Elevation:
150 m
Overview

Moscow is the capital of Russia. The bustling metropolis, located on the Moskva River, is the most populous city in Europe.
The city is well connected with all possible modes of transport. Apart from having four airports, there are two water terminals for local water transport, intercity and inter-country bus services and ferries, and the western railway hub for the Trans-Siberian railway which is the world’s longest rail line.
When one mentions ‘Moscow’, you get the image of a whole city wrapped in a thick blanket of snow. Although the city has cold winters with temperatures dropping as low as –12°C, summer (July–August) is warm and mild with temperatures rising up to 25°C.
The metropolis has a population of 11 million people. It is considered as the world’s most expensive city for expatriates.

Overall Guide : Moscow’s major attraction is the world famous Red Square, which houses magnificent attractions like the domed St. Basil’s Cathedral, Lenin’s Mausoleum (containing the soviet founder’s embalmed body), Kazan Cathedral and the famed GUM department stores. Adjacent is the Kremlin, the... more Heart of Moscow and the seat of the Russian Presidency. In the same vicinity is the world’s largest Orthodox Church, Christ the Saviour Cathedral. There is a historic museum beneath the structure. Shop all you want at the Old Arbat Street with its souvenir shops, cafes and quaint Russian restaurants. In contrast, the brightly-lit New Arbat Street is where Moscow’s rich and elite frequent. If you visit in winter, you can catch an ice sculpture competition or an ice skating gala taking place at the Gorky Park. After shopping, you can lunch at the world’s busiest McDonalds on Tverskaya Street.

Overall Guide : Explore Moscow and get photographed by a professional photographer. Moscow is full of unique photographic spots. And one the pleasures of traveling is to convert memories into pictures. Beautiful, crisp images enable us to live through the most adventurous moments... more of a journey again and again. Pictures speak better than words when we share impressions with friends and family. But it's hard to get a picture of yourself when you travel solo. Even for 2-3 people taking photos can be difficult - one person hides behind the camera and the group is never together.
Not to be missed Cathedral of Christ the Savior , Izmailovo flea market , Moscow Kremlin
