Overall Guide : Santiago de Compostela has been declared a World Heritage City. It has been an important pilgrimage spot and cultural capital for hundreds of years. The city even has its own unique architectural style. There is more to this city than religion... more and buildings. Santiago de Compostela has a thriving university that attracts thousands of young students from all over the world, giving it a very lively atmosphere. It is also renowned for its cuisine and has one of the largest and tastiest varieties of sea-food. The Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela is reputed to be the burial place of St James, the apostle. Construction of this magnificent edifice was started in 1075 under the reign of Alfonso VI of Castile. Every year, hundreds of pilgrims flock to the cathedral after completing the arduous pilgrimage of Camino de Santiago. There are many other interesting monuments and museums in the city that have fascinating exhibits on its history and culture.

Overall Guide : When you arrive at the airport in Santiago, rent a car and after 3 chilometres, at Lavacolla, there's a wonderful holiday house: Pazo Xan Xordo. Santiago is very beautiful (it's 7 km away) and there great trips that are not... more to be missed: La Coruna on the Ocean , Lugo with its spectacular Roman walls, Vigo and the bay, and Pontevedra (with the hotel that hosted the Italian national Bearzot, world champion in 1982!).

Overall Guide : IT'S A VERY BEAUTIFUL AND MYSTICAL CITY, BUT WITH ITS OWN SPECIAL MYSTICISM. IT'S INTERESTING FROM ALL POINTS OF VIEW. IT'S CLEAN, PEOPLE ARE KIND AND POLITE AND THEY DON'T TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THE PATH BEING SO FAMOUS, EVERYTHING WORKS,... more IN SHORT, IT'S REALLY WORTH GOING.
