Barry can be described as one of the towns located in ‘Vale of Glamorgan’, Wales.
Situated at a distance of 11 Km on Cardiff’s SSW side, along Bristol Channel’s northern coast, Barry, which enjoys the pride of being capital of Wales, is a ‘seaside resort’. It was a petite village once upon a time. However, at present, Barry has managed to have absorbed its bigger adjoining hamlets such as Barry Island and Cadoxton.
The population of Barry has been estimated to be around 50000.
This town has been associated with ‘Woodham Brothers scrapyard’, i.e. a business which aided around two hundred steam locomotives to have survived in to preservation.
Barry is a portion of ‘Vale of Glamorgan Assembly constituency’; along with being a part of ‘South Wales Central Assembly’ region. In the year 1939, Barry got incorporated in the form of a ‘municipal borough’ through Royal Charter. This borough was successor to Cadoxton and Barry Local Board and ‘Barry Urban District Council’.

Overall Guide : Barry Island Pleasure ParkThis park had been famous due to the presence of Scenic Railway till mid nineteenth century. However, it got partly destroyed in the year 1973 in a turbulent gale; prior to being dismantled. Majority of beams of... more scenic railway’s were utilized in construction of Log flume ride which exists at present. It remains amongst the most reputable attractions of Barry. The Pleasure Park comprises of around 30 attractions and rides; inclusive of Viper Rollercoaster, Log Flume, Dodgems, Sea rate Pirate Ship, and several others. ‘Park Ticket Boxes’ have been made available; which would let tourists go for ‘ride tickets’. Loads of amusement arcades have been located inside Pleasure Park; as well as on surrounding streets.TimingsBarry Island Pleasure Park gets opened from ‘Easter’ onwards. It remains closed from 2nd weekend of the month of September.
