Salisbury is a serene cathedral city in Wiltshire, England and forms a major part of the Salisbury district known as New Sarum. Located in the basin of the River Avon, the city is a scenic region with many sacred sites. The region has approximately 45,000 inhabitants.
The climate in Salisbury is of the moderate variety. Pleasant summers and snowy winters characterise the climate. However, the temperatures occasionally show their extreme side. Overall, Salisbury has a pleasant climate with beautiful snowfall.
Historically, the city finds its origins in the Iron Age; Sorviodunum was its earliest name. The city was an important region owing to its location. Today, the city has a strong economy consisting of agriculture, biotechnology and tourism.

The evergreen surroundings bring about a rich tapestry of colour in the autumn season. Another exciting event is the annual Salisbury Festival which works on a different theme every year. The events included are orchestral concerts, movie screenings, art workshops, lectures and much more. The Salisbury International Arts Festival is an annual affair which comes with small events like theatre, live, music, sculptures, crafts exhibitions and dance as well. Also visit the Salisbury Arts Centre which organises events during weekends.
