Kent is a city which is situated in Portage County in Ohio. It is situated along the Cuyahoga River in the north east part of Ohio and the west edge of Portage County. Originally settled in 1805, Kent was developed at first as two separate villages. It was formerly inhabited by many tribes of American Indians.
Kent’s nearby areas are Cleveland, Akron, Youngstown-Warren and Canton. It is called as Kentites or townies by the Kent State University students and it is nicknamed as the tree city as it is home of the Davey Tree Expert Company.

The population was 27,906 as per the 2000 census and in 2006 it was 27,946 people making it the largest city in Ohio. As of 2009, its population is 28, 253 people and since 2000, it had growth of 0.14 percent.
Kent gets 39 inches of rainfall and 42 inches of snowfall each year. July month is high with 82 degrees and January is low with 21 degrees. On average, there are 164 sunny days each year.
