The city of Knoxville is surrounded by the Cumberland Mountains and the Great Smoky Mountains. Located at the intersection point of the French Broad and Holston Rivers in Tennessee, USA, the city is spread over an area of 254.1 sq km and has a population of 180,000.
Knoxville has a temperate climate. Summers are warm and humid with an average temperature of 30°C. Winters are mild and brief with temperatures ranging from –1°C to 7°C. Spring and autumn turn the city into a colourful paradise.
Owing to its location on the Tennessee River, the city has served as a vital industrial port. Home to the University of Tennessee, the city is constantly buzzing with student activity.
The city has many cultural and historical attractions. The city hosts the annual Dogwood Arts Festival in spring. Local attractions in the city include the Knoxville Zoological Gardens, Ijams Nature Center and the Knoxville Zoo.

Overall Guide : Knoxville is a great place to live, work and to raise a family. The best part is the transparent government of city is always ready to help people. Knoxville is a great place to go for picnic, hiking and to... more spend some time with family. Lot of tourist comes here every year. “Ijams Nature Center” is known as a relaxing heaven in the city. You can get a hiking map for $1 and plan your day accordingly. Apart from fun there are lots of sites to study as well. You can find various species of insects, flowers, animals and the rock made from volcanic reaction as well and all you need to do is to keep minute observation. Ijams Nature Center is a good option to spend a day with kids. For theatre lovers, the beautiful “Tennessee Theatre” offers free concerts on some Mondays. They have nice collection of movies and performers.
