North Myrtle Beach is a city situated in Horry County in South Carolina, USA. Located at the northern end of the coastal Grand Strand area of the state, the city covers an area of 35 sq km and has a population of around 20,000.
The city is blessed with a mild subtropical climate. The temperatures are moderated by the Atlantic Ocean and the warm air currents of the Gulf Stream. The average summer temperature is 32°C, while the average winter temperature is 2°C.
The earliest inhabitants of the area were the Wacamaaw and Winyah Indians. North Myrtle Beach was formed in 1968 when four small beaches were consolidated into one community.
The oak tree-lined beaches and the inviting warm climate attract a large number of tourists every year. The blue waters of the Atlantic are great for swimming and fishing. Other recreational opportunities come in the form of golf courses and shopping malls.

Overall Guide : Myrtle Beach Zoo at Barefoot Landing display various animals but mostly tigers such as the ligers, white tigers, Bengal tigers, tabby tigers and Siberian tigers. One can even click photographs with a baby or adult tiger which are mostly seen... more in the zoo in the afternoons and when there is no rain. Tribute is a concert hall where one can see live shows as well as take part in activities like go carting, golfing, riverboat tours, fishing and more. Barefoot Landing is an outdoor complex which has a number of shops, restaurants and other attractions. There are several beaches here where one can enjoy swimming and playing water sports such as the Windy Hill Beach, Crescent Beach, Ocean Drive Beach and the Cherry Grove Beach. The Family Kingdom Amusement Park is the favorite with kids as it is the only seaside amusement park in Myrtle Beach.
