Pittsburgh, the Steel City of USA, is located in the south-west region of Pennsylvania. It lies at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and is formed at the confluence of the Monongahela, Allegheny and Ohio Rivers. These three rivers give the city a beautiful triangular design called ‘The Golden Triangle’. The Pittsburgh International Airport serves the city.
The presence of lakes and the mountains gives Pittsburgh an average climate with plenty of precipitation. The highest temperature (in the summer month of July) is around 28°C, and the lowest temperature drops to less than –5°C.
The population of this ethically-diverse city is more than 350,000 people. It is the largest inland port in the US, and has a history of being a chief manufacturer of iron and steel, thus giving it the name of steel city.

You will never get bored as it is filled with all sorts of activities from museums to adventure trips and sports. Pittsburgh city participates to the National hockey league (Pittsburgh Penguins) and the National football league (Pittsburgh Steelers). Transportation around town works pretty well. Overall Guide : Apart from kayaking, riverboat tours and waterskiing, there is a large picturesque fountain which flows at the point where the two rivers converge. Within the Golden Triangle, one can find most of the city’s tallest structures, including the US Steel... more building. Head to the Oakland neighbourhood and visit one of Pittsburgh’s most visited attractions, the 42-storeyed Cathedral of Learning, which is a neo-gothic part of the University of Pittsburgh. Each classroom on the ground floor has the design of a different nation’s folk culture No trip to Pittsburgh is complete without a trip to Mount Washington downtown. Take the Monongahela Incline (a charming tourist tramway) up the slopes of this majestic natural beauty.  Also visit the ‘Strip District’ of the city with its Pittsburgh History Museum and alluring nightclubs.

Overall Guide : I live in the city and I love it! There is always things going on. There is no lack of museums to look through and there is always shows and concerts that come through Pittsburgh. I suggest using the bus... more system to get around. They come regularly and can get anywhere in the city on them, just make sure to plan your bus trip out or it might get confusing. Driving here is complicated due to narrow streets, one way streets, and mostly the hills and bridges. However, the hills and bridges do make it easy to get spectacular views, no matter where you are.
Not to be missed The Strip

Overall Guide : Needs a better organized infrastructure, better road signs and a better thought out travel plan orchestrated to relieve traffic jams and accidents. Some road signs are ambiguous in which way an arrow points in a certain direction, or are too... more small, and the color green sometimes gets lost in the sun too easy, and they become easy to miss.
