Situated in Pinellas County in Florida, USA, Washington DC (DC stands for District of Columbia) is the capital of USA. It is spread over an area of 177 sq km and has a population of about 580,000.
Washington has a humid subtropical climate. The summers are hot and humid with an average temperature of 30°C. Thunderstorms are a regular phenomenon in summer. Winters are characterized by low temperatures and light snowfall. Spring is very pleasant with low humidity and mild temperatures.
Washington DC has a diverse economy. Not only is it a cultural centre but is also a media hub. The city’s unique history is on display in its iconic monuments and neighbourhoods.
The city was chosen as a compromise in the fight between the North and the South for the centre of the new government.

Overall Guide : It isn't the capital for no reason!! It has a "European" charm, mixed with American grandeur. It's small and easy to visit. It's quite expensive, as are all major American cities. I might just add that it didn't seem like ... Leggi tutto a city for young people. It was very nice.
