Winter Haven is a city located in the Polk County of Florida in U.S.A. The city is situated in the south eastern part of Florida closer to the coastal lines. According to the census recorded in 2000 the population was said to be around 26500.
Recently in 2007 the U.S. Census Bureau estimated the city to have a population of 32,577 which is a tremendous increase thus making it the second most populated city in Florida. The average temperature here is maintained to be around 26 degrees during the day.
The town suffers from moderate rainfall in the month of June and July. According to the American Census Bureau, the city is supposed to have a total area of 25.4 square miles out of which, 17.7 square miles is land and 7.7 square miles of it is water.
Thus the city contains about 31 percent of water. Also the city has many lakes. Winter Haven has a railway station and a Greyhound bus stop for the means of transport. Local bus service is provided for the local people residing here.

Overall Guide : Winter Haven is well known for its beautiful lakes surrounding the city which is the main tourist spot. The other attractions over here include the parks, churches, cemeteries and shopping centres. There are many lakes in the town which is ... Leggi tutto the place where people visit for boating and fishing. Among the many lakes some famous ones are Buckeye Lake, Jessie Lake, Howard Lake and Lucerne Lake. The much popular parks include the Inman Park and the Rotary Park. There are many museums that have been established near this park. There are many churches for worshipping present in the town. Some of them are mentioned here which include Cypress Cathedral, First Assembly of God Church and Beymer Memorial Church. The famous shopping center in the city is The Winter Haven Mall which is the biggest shopping place providing almost all the accessories of day to day life, the other tourist attractions here are Genesis Zoology Center, Florida Cypress Gardens, Florida Outback Adventures, Fantasy of Flight and many more.
