Yuma is a stunning city in Arizona, United States and also the county seat of Yuma County. With a population of about 85,000, Yuma is a famous winter retreat for its warm and dry weather, as also for its excellent golf courses and recreational facilities.
One of the hottest cities of United States, Yuma is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the sunniest place on earth. Winters in the city are quite cool, giving a respite from the hot weather. Yuma also receives adequate rainfall.
Founded in 1545, Yuma was a major trade centre and a transportation hub, known for its steamboat crossing. In recent times, the economy of the city has been a mix of agriculture, tourism and various industries. Some major agricultural companies of the country are also located here.

Overall Guide : An unusual, but popular, attraction of the city is the Yuma Territorial Prison which is now a historical museum by the name of Yuma Territorial Prison State Historic Park. Earlier, it was also the site of various football matches of... more the Yuma Union High School. The Imperial National Wildlife Refuge is a scenic stretch which encompasses wetlands as well as deserts. An excellent place for recreational activities like hiking, boating and fishing, it also has an abundant plant and animal life. Set amidst, lush, decorated gardens, the Century House Museum is sure to enthral visitors with its exhibitions of photographs and artefacts related to the bygone era. The scenic location and the interesting relics are a major attraction. The Algodones Dunes is a huge sand dune area which is a favoured location for sand rail rides and motorcycle rides. Camping is the most preferred activity and as many as 200,000 people visit the place during winters.
