Cathedral and Church of Our Lady The architecture and art of the present cathedral in Trier dates back to more than 1,650 years. At this location, the palace of Emperor Constantine was built in the past and some of its remains are still extant. The Church of Our Lady adjoins the Cathedral. It was constructed in the 13th century and is the earliest Gothic Church in the nation.
