Overall Guide : The Byzantine Museum, preserving the artefacts from the Byzantine era, the Thessaloniki Archaeological Museum, displaying a collection of findings dating back to the Neolithic times, and several other museums can be all found in the centre of the city. The Rotunda... more was built as a mausoleum; it then served as a church and is now the site for concerts and exhibitions. It boasts of a beautiful collection of mosaics. Aghios Dimitrios, a church, contains a crypt, some sculptures and other Byzantine treasures. A copy of the original Aghia Sofia, in Istanbul, has also been made here. The White Tower, a part of the original fortifications, was once known as the Bloody Tower as this was where executions took place; today, it is a museum and the city’s symbol. There are several beaches and resort town along the Halkidhiki peninsula which make for good trips from Thessaloniki.

Overall Guide : The most beautiful town in Greece. Greece’s second city has style, with plenty of fashionable shops and salons and a 1-million-strong population fleshed out by a big university (80,000-plus students). Thessaloniki boasts great nightlife during those long months when more... more famous Greek destinations are deep in hibernation, from arty cafes to Latin bars; from discos pumping out house music to salacious bouzoukia (clubs featuring twangy, Eastern-flavoured Greek folk-pop). That’s plenty to keep you occupied after you’ve traversed the city’s sublime Byzantine churches, museums and scattered ruins. It’s not cheap, but no Greek city save Athens compares.
Not to be missed Archaeological Museum of Thessaloniki , Castles -old city- , Agios Dimitrios

Overall Guide : It's full of historic places but it isn't valued by the administration, it is, however, valued by those who are trying to boost tourism. The food is good and the prices are very reasonable. The people are nice. It's worth... more visiting for three days. I recommend using "Discover thessaloniki" which you can grab from the White Tower and you can go all around in 50 minutes for just €2, with an English guide.

Overall Guide : I love this city very much. The medieval architecture and the nice people are 2 great qualities of this beauty city. The coffes and the pubs with a lot of students and a great night life. The university and the clime... more are great. There are very good souvenires stores and a good and delicious Giro Pita all around the downtown.

Overall Guide : If someone like to spend summer in cities should also visit Thessaloniki. There is lots of ancient architecture and also many other atractions. A big disadvantage is the weather, during summer it's simply very hard to stay in the city,... more but it depends on person.
Not to be missed The White Tower , Agios Dimitrios , The Arch and Rotunda of Galerius
