Orvieto is a quaint, dramatic city in Umbria, Italy, enclosed by defensive walls. The city is home to a population of about 22,000 inhabitants. The scenic location, charming medieval character and Gothic architecture, make Orvieto one of the most unique and interesting cities of Italy.
Blessed with a pleasant climate throughout the year, Orvieto has warm, dry summers and mild winters. Rainfall is concentrated in the autumn season. The best time to tour the city is in February, March and October when the climate is mild and vegetation, lush.
Earlier known as Velzna, the city was a flourishing Etruscan settlement with the main occupation being ceramics production. Today, the city’s main occupations include tourism, pottery, agriculture and handicrafts.

Overall Guide : Orvieto is a charming, spiritual, it has everything for everyone culture of Italy. You must like to walk and be friendly and love to shop, eat and see the real new and old italy their are museums, art frescas, hideaway ... Leggi tutto eateries tipico, shoes,clothes, and just sitting and watching the people. The gelato is terrific and the scenery from all the hilltop areas cannot be beat. You are a car or trainride away from Rome, Florence and all the small quaint festivals and towns.
