Positano is a small resort town along the famed Amalfi Coast in the south-western part of Italy. This town of almost 4,000 inhabitants sits on the sides of the mountains rising almost cliff-like from the seashore.
Positano enjoys a temperate climate. The mountains protect it from the cold winds blowing in from the north and ensure that winters are mild. The town does not get much rain either.
Positano was a flourishing trade town for most of its early history; but it started deteriorating and became a sleepy fishing village. Today, it has regained its past glory and is bustling with tourists and is one of the most fashionable holiday spots in Europe.
Since the village has been built almost vertically built, it calls for a lot of steep walks and climbs.

Reviews Positano

Overall rating 10
Overall Guide : Positano is my favorite destination in Italy, very romantic, with an amazing location perched on the cliffs above the sea. If you have been one time there, you would like to come back again and again. You are surrounded by... more beauty. The entire Amalfi Coast has so much to offer, and you can use Positano as a camp base. You may need a car, but also you can use the public transportation which is very safe. The road along the Amalfi Coast is very dramatic and it is said that only experienced drivers can manage it.
