Zakopane can be described as a town located in Poland’s southern part.
Zakopane is unofficially called ‘Winter capital of Poland’; along with being place of ‘Goral culture’. Geographically, it lies towards the south of Podhale region; at foot of Tatra Mountains.
Zakopane is being looked upon as the most significant Polish center with regards to skiing and mountaineering. Moreover, it’s being paid a visit by around 3 million tourists. Kasprowy Wierch, Gubalowka Hill, and Nosal are amongst the most significant skiing locations.
The most ancient documents which make a mention of Zakopane date it back to the seventeenth century; thereby having described a ‘glade’ called ‘Zakopisko’. In the year 1676, Zakopane was just a hamlet consisting of 43 residents. However, in the year 1824, with one of the sections of Tatra Mountains, it got sold to Homola family.
Ski slopes and hiking trails of Zakopane go on to make it ‘tourism mecca’ for every season.
Population as per census conducted in the year 2004 has been estimated to be 28000.

Overall Guide : The town located at the footsteps of Mount Giewont, a very famous holiday destination known as Zakopane in Poland. Covered with various mountains around this place has many things to do. The most popular thing to do here is trekking ... Leggi tutto and mountain hiking. I started my journey by joining a couple of other hikers. We geared up by doing couple of exercises instructed by the group leader so that we don’t get any kind of muscle or joint sprain. The journey over the mountain was very exciting, though it was tiring however once when we reached the top of the mountain the view was so relaxing that we almost forgot about the entire tiring trek. I saw that being a tourist place the city was flooded with restaurants and places to visit. I saw a lot of people shopping. The town had huge shopping malls. I found it be a perfect place in summer as well as in winter for an exciting vacation.
