Falmouth is the port located on the southern coast of Cornwall.
The place got its name after the River Fal. Falmouth is a well known seaside resort.
Since the town is situated on the seashore, its climate is milder than other regions in Cornwall. Due to its pleasant climate, which remains constant all round the year; it is visited by a large number of tourists every year. The mild weather fosters the growth of a variety of tender plants.
Some of the varieties are even rare in other parts of Britain. Because of this reason, one can see various beautiful gardens in the town. As per the 2001 census, the town consists of 20,775 people.
Several renowned personalities have visited this beautiful seaside town.
Florence Nightingale is one of them. Falmouth is regularly visited by the TV program and film makers.

Overall Guide : The main attraction in Falmouth is the town itself. Large numbers of tourists visit this town to enjoy the pleasant weather. The town is a well known seaside resort. The golden sands on the beaches attract many travellers to this ... Leggi tutto place. Most of the structures in the town belong to the 18th and beginning of the 19th century. The sandy beaches of the town are dotted with the magnificently built Pedennis Castle. It was built on the headland of the town by Henry VIII. The Discovery Centre in the castle helps visitors to explore the royal history of the Pedennis Castle. The historical events are re-enacted frequently in the castle. In the summer, a special ‘Land Train’ of Falmouth takes the tourists from the city centre to the castle. One can view the enchanting beauty of the surroundings from the castle. The town is dotted with several magnificent gardens in and around the town. Out of these, the Trebah gardens are the most popular. Subtropical plants, ferns, banana trees and bamboos can be seen here.

Overall Guide : I loved it there... would love to go back... people were very nice ... lots of places to see... It took almost a week to see all the shopping places ... great views everywhere we went.. I would love to ... Leggi tutto go back every summer if i could... Only thing i didn't like .. getting hair done cost way too much .... even took the price list home to show to my friends cause i couldn't believe the price they charged there... some could cost up to almost 200 bux.

Overall Guide : A great fun place, lots of good eating places and bars. National Maritime Museum is not to be missed.
