Isle of Barra is an island in the south of Scotland. It is a big island. According to the census, its population was around 2000 in the year 2001. The island has a rich cultural heritage. Majority of the population in the Island is that of  Roman Catholics. A variety of festivals and cultural activities take place in the island every year. There are a number of beaches closer to the island. The island has a number of parks and gardens with a variety of natural trees and natural flora and fauna.  Also, the number of churches in the island is also on the higher side. There are also a number of educational centers. The language used by the locals is Gaelic- which is the local language of the people living in the island. The Barra city also holds a sports event every year, for athletes from different cities. The parks and gardens in the Barra city are very attractive and worth visiting once, for their beauty.
