Located in the Atlantic Ocean, Block Island is situated in Washington County in Rhode Island, USA. Separated from the mainland by the Block Island Sound, it covers an area of 25.2 sq km.
The temperature on the island is cooler than that of the mainland because of the ocean. Summers are warm with an average temperature of 25°C. In winter, the average temperature is 3°C.
Heralded as ‘one of the last great places in the Western Hemisphere’, the island is blessed with abundant natural beauty. Long beaches, rolling hills and the 365 freshwater ponds are the main attractions of this island.
The majestic Mohegan bluffs in the south and the woodland trails at Clayhead in the north are part of the islands fragile yet beautiful ecosystem. The community of 1,000 residents continuously strives to preserve the island’s natural bounty and remarkable landscape.

Overall Guide : Absolutely Love Block Island. Food is great. People are great. Beaches are great. Shopping is great. Very peaceful vacation, rain or shine. Has remained quaint for the 25 years we've been going there. Great fudge and ice cream. Dell's lemonade.... more Hotels are very accommodating and charming. Walk, drive, bike, or take a taxi, it's all good.
Not to be missed Bluffs , Visit Payne's Marina to say hi to Cliff.
