Dayton is the largest city in Montgomery County in south-western Ohio. Located on the Miami River, the city covers an area of 146.7 sq km and has a population of around 160,000.
The city has a humid, continental climate, characterized by hot summers and cold, dry winters. The average summer temperature is 27°C, while winter temperatures fall below freezing point.
Dayton was once home to the Wright Brothers, the pioneers in aviation. Hence, it is not surprising that the city is known as the birthplace of aviation. Visitors can educate themselves at the United States Air Force Museum. The city also hosts the Vectren Dayton Air Show.
Dayton’s amiable environment and vibrant culture are big tourist draws. The Downtown and the Oregon Historic District with the Victorian Theatre are some of the best places to visit. Its terrain is made up of flat grassy areas, perfect for hiking, horseback riding and other outdoor activities.

The travelers can visit the neighborhood pub and enjoy jazz, rock, blues, '80s music, hip-hop and other diverse musical styles.... more The 88 Club, Binger's Bar, Century Bar, The Dublin Pub and Gilly's are worth visiting. The Dayton Art Institute is a museum of fine arts which consists of a collection of ancient artifacts while Boonshoft Museum of Discovery consists of natural history exhibits. The Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park, Dayton International Peace Museum, Carillon Historical Park and Montgomery County Historical Society are few other places.Beavercreek is a suburb of the city of Dayton which is famous for its historical sights. The city of Dayton hosts several sporting events at the Hara Arena and the Nutter Center. These venues also host certain concerts, stages shows and other events.
