Located on the River Big Thompson in Larimer County is the city of Estes Park. This city has a population of approximately 6,000 residents. The city was founded in 1859 by Joel Estes.
Estes Park experiences cool winters and relatively warm summers. July and August are the warmest months of the year with a maximum average temperature of around 26°C. The topography of this mountainous city is absolutely brilliant with mountains covered with green and yellow grass, colourful flowers, lush forests and rivers that flow through the vegetation.
Lying in the picturesque landscape of the Rocky Mountains, this city is an excellent destination for a summer vacation. With the presence of several great parks, for instance the Rocky Mountain National Park and the Roosevelt National Forest, the city has become a hub for tourists. Subsequently, the tourism industry is the most important contributor to the city’s economy.

Overall Guide : The Estes Park in Colorado is known for its events, attractions and exciting entertainment venues. The people like to watch different art exhibitions, concerts and live music shows. There are a lot of places one can visit, some of them... more being the Art Center of Estates, Estates park area museum, Mac Gregor Ranch Museum and the Rockey Mountain National Park. The park features several camping and picnic grounds and different snowshoeing, hiking and cross country skiing trials. These places have been attracting the tourists due to their symbolic significance. Denver is the closest place to this town. It is just 70 miles to the southeast of Estes Park and has a lot of tourist attractions. Denver has a beautiful down town aquarium, lake side amusement park, IMAX Theater and Six flags Elitch gardens. Any tourist visiting Estate park definitely likes to visit Denver. Behind the Batton is a famous event that is held in the city.

Overall Guide : Rocky Mountain National Park is an outdoorsmans dream. From rock climbing, hiking, river rafting, horseback riding, to camping, one can do it all! Estes Park also has a wonderful downtown. There are hundreds of little shops with a huge variety... more of local wares. There are a large variety of hotels to accommodate any budget. Also, there are cabins and campgrounds for rent in the surrounding mountain towns, such as Allenspark. Not-to-miss sites are Rocky Mountain National Park; don't miss driving the Old Fall River Road. It is a hatch-back one lane dirt road going up the Mountain. Amazing View!
