Evanston is located in the south-western part of the state of Wyoming in the USA. This town with a population of approximately 11,500 inhabitants is the county seat of the Uinta County.
Summers in Evanston are pleasant with the average maximum temperature at 27°C. During winter, the temperature consistently drops to –8°C. The region has a dry climate; the rainfall here is much lower than the national average.
The region is mountainous in nature, and the city is nestled within one of the several valleys in the area. Several nature parks are in close vicinity making the town a popular tourist spot. During winter the snow covered slopes make Evanston a veritable ski resort.
Evanston came up in the middle of the nineteenth century when it served as a campsite for labourers building the railroad through this region. Eventually ranches, timber trading posts and mining activities added to the city’s development.
