Info about Fort Myers Beach

Located on Estero Island in southwest Florida, the town of Fort Myers Beach occupies an area of 16 sq km and has a population of 8,000. Known as the ‘world’s safest beach’, it is separated from the mainland by the Matanzas Pass.
The town has a subtropical, humid climate with temperatures ranging from 16°C in winter to 27°C in summer. The ocean breeze from the Gulf of Mexico and the frequent thundershowers alleviate temperatures.
The beach is a popular tourist site, and as such, there a number of hotels that cater to the growing number of visitors. The intersection of San Carlos and Estero Boulevards—Times Square—is the site of many popular hotels.
Some of the hotels on the beach like the Lighthouse Island Resort, Pink Shell Beach Resort and Ramada Inn Beach Front Resort offer breathtaking views.

Overall Guide : Earlier a quaint little settlement, For Myers Beach has developed into a major tourist hub. Expanses of white sandy beaches offer several recreational activities that provide the ideal escape from city-life. The town’s hub, Times Square, is packed with bars... more and restaurants as well as shops and hotels that make it the ideal place to begin. However, if you’re looking for some peace and quiet, the rest of the island houses beach condos, quaint cottages and quiet motels. Several beach locations offer activities such as parasailing, kayaking, golfing, swimming, sailing, fishing, scuba diving and snorkelling. Places worth visiting include the Matanzas Pass and Lover’s Key State Recreation Area. Fort Myers Beach also offers several nature excursions and tours. Moreover, Orlando and Miami are nearby and are ideal for day-trips for those who yearn for the hustle and bustle of city life.
